Car Inspection
Full car inspection across Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. Pre-purchase, RTA pass, multi-point check covering engine, brakes, AC, battery. Call 052 101 6628.
Here’s the thing about car inspection. You only really need one when something matters, before you buy a used car, before you renew registration, or when you’ve noticed something off and want a second opinion. We do all three at Al Bedaya Garage, and we give you a written report you can actually use.
What does a full car inspection cover?
A proper inspection at our workshop runs through 12 main systems, every one of them tested on the lift:
- Engine condition, oil, leaks, mounts
- Transmission and gearbox feel, gear oil
- Brakes, pad thickness, disc condition, brake fluid
- Suspension, shocks, bushes, ball joints, steering
- AC system, vent temperature, gas pressure, compressor
- Battery health, alternator output, starter draw
- Tyres, tread depth, wear pattern, age
- Lights, sensors, dash warnings, diagnostic scan
- Bodywork, paint condition, evidence of past accidents
- Underbody, exhaust, fuel lines, signs of rust
- Cabin, AC blower, electrics, infotainment
- Road test, real-world feel, noises, alignment
That’s the 12-point check. You get a printed report at the end with green, amber and red on every item, so you know what’s fine, what to watch, and what needs work now.
How much does car inspection cost in the UAE?
A standard pre-purchase or peace-of-mind inspection at Al Bedaya is AED 150 to AED 300, depending on the car. Luxury cars and big SUVs take longer (more to check) so they’re at the higher end.
If you book us for any service work, the inspection is free. Every single job we take in gets a mandatory full inspection before we start, no extra charge. Plenty of customers come in for an oil change and find out their brake pads are 80% gone. That’s the inspection paying for itself.
How long does a car inspection take?
A proper inspection takes 60 to 90 minutes. Anyone telling you they can do a full pre-purchase check in 15 minutes is skipping steps. The road test alone takes 10.
You can wait, or drop the car and pick it up the same day with the written report ready.
When should I get a car inspection?
Four times you really need one:
- Before buying a used car. Always. Doesn’t matter how nice the seller is. Spend AED 200 to save AED 20,000.
- Before renewing your registration if you’re worried about RTA pass failures.
- Before a long road trip, especially summer drives to Oman or up the coast.
- When something feels off and you want an honest opinion before agreeing to a big repair quote.
Sound familiar? Most of our inspection bookings fall into one of these four buckets.
What we’ve learned from 25 years of UAE inspections
Two patterns we see constantly:
First, used cars hide more problems than dealers admit. We’ve inspected 4-year-old “showroom condition” cars with welded chassis from a hidden accident. The Carfax was clean. Without putting it on the lift, you’d never know. Pay for the inspection.
Second, owners ignore amber items until they go red. A brake pad at 4mm is fine for now. At 2mm it’s grinding the disc. At 0mm you’re replacing pads AND discs AND maybe calipers. We mark amber items in the report for a reason. They’re not nothing.
We had a customer last summer (we’ve been servicing his Land Cruiser for 8 years), came in for an inspection before selling. We found a hairline crack in the lower control arm. He fixed it for AED 800. Without the inspection, the buyer would have found it later and tanked the resale by AED 5,000. Same job, different timing.
What does this mean for you? Get the inspection before the problem finds you.
FAQ
Do you do RTA-required pre-registration testing? We do pre-RTA inspections so you go to the test centre confident. The official pass test has to be done at an RTA-certified centre, but we’ll flag everything that would cause a fail before you go.
Can I bring a car I’m thinking of buying, before I commit? Yes, this is one of our most common bookings. Bring the seller along or have him drop the car. We’ll inspect and give you the report in 90 minutes. You decide from there.
Will you tell me about issues you find without pushing for the repair? That’s the whole point. The report is yours. Take it to another shop if you want. We’re not commission-based.
Do you inspect imported cars (US, Japan, Europe)? Yes. Imported cars need extra checks (mileage tampering, accident records, market-spec differences). We’ve inspected hundreds.
What about hybrid or electric cars? We inspect petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV. Different checks for the high-voltage system, but yes, we cover them.
What to do next
Book the inspection by phone or just drive in. Bring the car (and the seller, if it’s a pre-purchase).
Call 052 101 6628. We’re behind Tara Typing Center in Industrial Area 2, Ajman, open Saturday to Thursday, 8am to 1pm and 4pm to 9pm.
If you’re new to the UAE and figuring out service intervals, how often you should service your car in Ajman is a good place to start.
