UAE sun and sand are brutal on paint. After 2 summers your factory clear coat starts hazing, swirls show up in every wash, and the paint loses depth. We do car polish and detailing at Al Bedaya Garage to bring it back, and to protect it so the next 2 summers don’t do the same damage.
What does car polish and detailing include?
There are three levels, depending on how rough your paint is:
Level 1, Wash and wax. Foam wash, clay bar, hand wax, tyre dressing, interior vacuum. Good for cars that already look decent. Takes 2 hours.
Level 2, Machine polish. Everything in Level 1 plus a 2-stage machine polish to cut out swirls, light scratches, and water-spot etching. Most UAE cars need this after 12 months without proper detailing.
Level 3, Full detail with ceramic coating. Paint correction, then a ceramic coating that bonds chemically to the clear coat. Protects from UV, sand abrasion, and water spots for 2 to 5 years depending on the product. This is the one that actually changes how your car looks.
We also do interior detailing on its own, leather conditioning, carpet shampoo, headliner clean, and full odour removal.
How much does car polish and detailing cost in the UAE?
Honest pricing:
- Wash and wax: AED 80 to AED 200
- Machine polish (2-stage): AED 400 to AED 900 depending on car size
- Ceramic coating (with paint correction): AED 1,500 to AED 4,500 depending on product grade and car
- Interior detailing only: AED 250 to AED 700
Sedans are cheaper than SUVs. Pearl whites and metallics take longer than solid colours. We give you the quote after we see the paint condition.
How long does car polish and detailing take?
- Wash and wax: 2 hours
- Machine polish: half a day to a full day
- Ceramic coating: 2 days (correction one day, coating cure the next)
- Interior detailing: 3 to 4 hours
Drop the car in the morning, pick it up the same evening for most jobs. Ceramic coating needs to cure overnight in a dust-free bay, which is why we ask you to leave it 2 days.
When should I get car detailing done?
Three good times to book:
- Once a year minimum, especially before summer. Polish and re-wax to handle the heat.
- Before selling the car. A proper detail adds AED 3,000 to 8,000 to most resale prices. Easy ROI.
- After buying a used car. Strip 5 years of someone else’s washing damage, start clean.
If your paint already feels rough to the touch (run your hand on the bonnet after washing), you’ve got embedded contamination. Clay-bar treatment fixes it. Should be done every 12 months.
What does this mean for you? Cars in the UAE need 2x the detailing of cars in cooler markets. The sun and the sand don’t take a year off.
What we’ve learned from 25 years of UAE paint care
We see two patterns that ruin paint faster than people realise:
Hand-wash machines at petrol stations. The brushes pick up grit from the previous car. By the third car of the day, those brushes are basically sandpaper. That’s where most of the swirl marks on UAE cars come from. Wash by hand or use a touchless wash.
Skipping ceramic coating on darker colours. Black, dark blue, and dark grey paint show every defect. Ceramic coating doesn’t make scratches impossible, but it makes washing safer, water spots wipe off, and UV damage drops dramatically. We’ve coated 5-year-old black SUVs that came out looking 1-year-old.
Trust us on this. A ceramic-coated car looks better at year 4 than an uncoated car at year 1.
We had a customer (he runs a fleet of 6 cars) try ceramic on one car as an experiment. After a year he came back and did the other 5. The cost per car was less than the touch-up paint and detailing he was spending anyway.
FAQ
What’s the difference between waxing and ceramic coating? Wax is a sacrificial layer, lasts 6 to 12 weeks. Ceramic bonds chemically to the clear coat and lasts 2 to 5 years. Wax fills micro-scratches, ceramic prevents them. Different jobs.
Can you remove deep scratches? Depends how deep. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, it’s into the clear coat. We can soften it with paint correction but not always fully remove it. Anything down to the base coat needs paint, not polish.
Will ceramic coating change my car’s colour? It deepens the colour and adds gloss. It doesn’t change the actual shade. Most owners are surprised how much darker their car looks after coating.
Do you do paint protection film (PPF)? Yes, on bonnets, bumpers, fenders, full body. PPF is the level above ceramic, costs more, but protects against stone chips.
How do I maintain a ceramic-coated car? Hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo, no brushes, no automatic car washes. We’ll show you the right products when you collect.
