Look, dents happen. Parking lot, school run, a friendly shopping trolley. The good news is most of them don’t need a full panel respray. We do car dent repair every day at Al Bedaya Garage and we’ll tell you straight whether your dent is a 30-minute job or a real bodywork project.
How does car dent repair work?
Two methods, depending on the dent. For small dents where the paint isn’t broken, we use paintless dent removal (PDR). We work the metal back into shape from behind the panel with specialised rods. No filler, no respray, no paint matching. The original factory paint stays exactly as it was.
For bigger dents, sharp creases, or dents where the paint has cracked, we do traditional dent repair, which means pulling or pushing the panel, filling, sanding, and repainting with a colour-matched spray.
The first thing we do when you bring the car in is figure out which one you need. The inspection is free.
How much does car dent repair cost in the UAE?
For paintless dent removal, prices start at AED 150 per dent for small dings. Most door dents run between AED 200 and AED 400. We’ve done dent jobs on bonnets and roofs at AED 500 to 800.
Traditional dent repair with paint costs more, usually AED 600 to AED 1,800 per panel depending on size and colour. Pearl whites and metallics need more layers, so they cost a bit more.
In Ajman and Sharjah you’ll find roadside guys quoting AED 100 for a quick fix. We’ve redone plenty of those when the dent popped back out a week later (we see this daily). So pay once, get it done right.
How long does car dent repair take?
Paintless dent removal is fast. Most jobs are 30 minutes to 2 hours. You can wait in the lounge with a coffee.
Traditional repair with paint takes longer because the paint needs to cure properly. We’re talking same-day for a small panel, 2 to 3 days for a full door or bumper. The drying time is what stretches it out, not the actual work.
When does a dent need paint and when doesn’t it?
Here’s the simple test. Run your finger over the dent. If you can feel the paint is intact, no cracks, no scratches breaking the colour, PDR will fix it. Save your money, no paint needed.
If you see scratches, paint missing, or any colour broken at the dent edge, you need a proper paint job after the dent is pulled.
What does this mean for you? If you push your trolley into your own bumper at low speed, it’s usually PDR. If someone reversed into you in the mall car park, it’s probably paint.
What we see in 25 years of UAE bodywork
Two things kill the resale value of a car in the UAE, and we see them every week:
- Owner ignores small dents until rust starts in the crease (sand and humidity are brutal)

Your car’s paint code is on the door jamb sticker. We pull it before we mix anything. That’s why our colour matches work, even on 8-year-old Pearl Whites that everyone says are “impossible to match.”
We had a Land Cruiser owner last month (one we’ve been servicing for years), bumper scrape from a desert trip, AED 700 quote from us. He almost went to a roadside shop for AED 350. We told him, look, you spent AED 280,000 on this car. Don’t save AED 350 on the bumper.
Trust us on this. He didn’t.
FAQ
Will my insurance cover dent repair? Comprehensive insurance usually does, but most owners skip the claim for small dents because the excess (AED 1,000 to 2,500) costs more than the repair. We accept insurance jobs too, ask before you book.
Can you fix hail damage? Yes, hail dings are perfect PDR jobs. We had a batch of cars from a 2024 hail storm in Sharjah, mostly PDR fixed in a day each.
Do you do dent repair on luxury cars (Range Rover, Porsche, Mercedes)? Yes. Same shop, same techs. We have the right tools for aluminium panels too, which most workshops can’t handle.
What if my dent has rust starting? Then it’s not just a dent job anymore. We’ll need to cut, treat, and refinish. We can still do it, but the price goes up.
Will the paint match exactly? Yes. We pull your colour code, mix to match, and blend into the next panel if needed. We won’t release the car until the panel looks right to you.
